Plot is weird. Sex trafficking usually happens with people sourced out of developed countries. It is a major liability to force an upper-middle class white American girl into prostitution especially when you know nothing about their relatives. You basically have no leverage to force them to stay, and a very high risk that she’ll be searched for. You’re better off snatching a poor malaysian with no money and threatening to kill her rice farming parents if she calls the police.
there's only 1 problem i had with this movie: at the end Kim just happily goes to meet Sheerah (the singer) in the hopes of becoming a star….YOUR BEST FRIEND WAS KIDNAPPED AND KILLED BY DRUG OVERDOSE. where's the consequence of that?! no phone call to her parents? a funeral?
Taken was a great action film but the two sequels were a great failure mostly I think because of the plots and mostly for having no character development and also I think It lacks the qualities of what makes a trilogy great, What I mean Is that great trilogies such as Star Wars and Lord of the Rings had this In common: They were a three-part story arc that the first movie Is only the beginning and the story Is continued In the sequels. Beginning, Middle and end that's a good trilogy. but this Is how the Taken trilogy Is: the story begins with Taken and It ends with Taken 2. And Taken 3 Is just It's own story which Is really disappointing because Taken 2 ended with a hint that the villains In the next would be one of Marko's brothers, I expected that one of them would be but the third films just completely ignored that possibility.
The first Taken was an excellent movie with an original idea. It was serious and gritty. Which makes it such a shame that the sequels sucked, and that Liam Neeson is a gun hating liberal Hollywood scumbag.
