That Stalinist revisionists must build a narration of Catholic vs. Jewish antagonisms to justify their Wolinskas murders on Polish heroes like Pilecki and Fieldorf is appalling. This movie is toxic, mildly saying.
Stalinist judge murderer mrs Wolinska in the background as good guy. And Irena Sendler pictured as her relative. A beautiful picture and an ugly lie. Orwell's 1984 coming true. In reality I. Sendler as Home Army would have rather faced a death sentence and an unnamed grave from stalinist Wolinskas of that period. Holywood promotes totalitarian thugs. How is it different from promoting Nazi judges? Is communism still alluring and fascinating to some?
How come that no one mentions that "IDA" (real name Helena Wolinska Brus) and her future husband Wlodzimierz Brus were real legal butchers working for the Polish Communist Party and have condemned to death many Polish citizens. It's all over the internet and no one seems to care. Shame on you, mr director of the movie.

This movie was beautifully done. Just wonderful.
The movie was not about Poles or Jews or communists or Germans. It was about humanity and identity. It's about people finding oneself, it happens to be set in postwar Poland.
The Holocaust was a terrible tragedy that we can never let be repeated. I don't think we should be taking a piece of art and laying blame on one another for the bases of the details. When it comes to entire peoples, there are no monoliths. There are many good, heroic Poles, and there were also evil Poles. There were many good, brave Germans, and many Germans possessed by unspeakable evil. There were Jews who were victims and Jews who were corrupt traitors. Speaking as someone who is of Polish and Jewish ancestry. I am extremely proud to be a part of the Polish nation. Everyone has valuable qualities and evil qualities. That's the simple matter.
These comments show a LOT of guilty conscience on the part of Poles. The film shows that Poles protected Jews and sometimes out of self-interest also gave them up/slashed killed them. That same scenario played out all over Europe. The idea that Poles would somehow be exempt from human nature is preposterous. But apparently not to the commentators here. Welcome to the human race. Like all of us try and do better next time.

Nie uznaję tego filmu za film polski! Jedynie za żydowsko niemiecką propagandę mającą na celu zrzucenie winy za holokaust na polaków. Oskar dla tego oderwanego od rzeczywistości filmu jest policzkiem dla całej kinematografii. Pawlikowski i cała obsada tego filmu powinni zostać pozbawieni obywatelstwa polskiego za zdradę kraju.
Oskara za ten film sam chętnie wepchnę Pawlikowskiemu tak głęboko w dupę że mu gardłem wyjdzie!
This is by far my favorite foreign movie I have ever seen
This was such a beautiful movie. It was like real life horror. I'm sorry for those who didn't understand the message of the movie. I know many Polish people must have saved Jews, but the movie documents one isolated case of murder of Jews for the satisfaction of a man's greed. Human nature isn't bounded. If a hundred people saved Jews, many others killed them too!

To, że jakiś naród wpadł w paranoidalną obsesję bycia wybrańcem jakiegoś boga nie oznacza jeszcze, że może on roić sobie prawo do manipulacji społeczno-kulturalnej innymi narodami. A tak niestety się dzieje. Polaków w czasie ostatniej wojny zginęło przeszło sześć milionów! Ten fakt /jak i wiele innych zresztą/ jakoś umyka zachodnim korporacjom, opłacającym te i im podobne "dzieła", powstające z inicjatywy nieżyczliwych nam kół semickich. Nie jestem rasistą, uchowaj mnie moja ateistyczna duszyczko. Jestem jedynie integralną częścią europejskiej społeczności, która nie wiedzieć czemu /wraz z częścią społeczności jankeskiej zza wielkiej wody/ uważa Słowian za jeszcze podlejsze zło niż ongiś fuhrer III Rzeszy uważał Żydów.
Powyższe wyraża się lekceważeniem słowiańskich osiągnięć ludności Środkowej Europy, choć przecież wkład nasz w ogólno humanistyczne wartości /także naukowe!/ jest niepodważalny. Ale cóż, kiedy białe rękawiczki pracują z precyzją chirurgicznego ostrza, skutecznie tnącego świadomość coraz mniej rozgarniętych ludzi Zachodu /zwłaszcza w USA/.
Mnie to przeraża, bo wkrótce zobaczymy film albo przeczytamy książkę, z których dowiemy się, że Hitler był Polakiem…. Mamy swoje za skórą /jak każdy naród/, ale… bez przesady.
Niech Amerykanie zobaczą film o Koperniku, albo o Skłodowskiej Curie. Nakręćmy dzieło o sukcesach Jagiellonów. Ale po co? Polak to pijak, nienawistny, antysemita, tępy katolik itp., itd.

JERUSALEM, May 10, 1989 (JTA) – Yitzhak Shamir has always been known as a man who plays things close to his vest, whether it be of a political or personal nature.
So his revelation last week about the death of his family in Nazi Europe was met with much surprise, as well as armchair debate on the psychological nature of the Israeli prime minister’s motivations and fears.
While reading out loud the names of his family members killed by the Nazis, Shamir disclosed that his father was killed by Polish childhood friends in his own village, after he succeeded in escaping from a German death train.
“My father, Shlomo Ysernitzky, who escaped before the train left for a death camp and while seeking shelter among friends in the village where he grew up, they, his friends from childhood, killed him,” Shamir said in a trembling voice.
Shamir revealed this on Holocaust Remembrance Day last week, while participating in a daylong public reading of names of Holocaust victims at the Knesset.
He also listed many other members of his family who died at the hands of the Nazis. His mother, Pearl, and a sister apparently died in death camps, while another sister was shot dead by the Nazis.
An aide said he was unsure what prompted Shamir to go public with the information.
Shamir’s family experiences have often prompted conjecture about his political motivations. In Sunday’s New York Times Magazine, the paper’s former Jerusalem bureau chief writes that Shamir’s purported intransigence is the result of an obsession with the Holocaust.
Shamir “exemplifies those Israeli leaders whose vision of tomorrow is yesterday,” wrote Thomas Friedman.
Shamir, 73, was born and raised in the village of Rozinoy. He left in the early ’30s to study at the university in Warsaw. He arrived in Palestine in 1935.

Helena Wolińska-Brus (28 February 1919 – 26 November 2008), born Fajga Mindla Danielak.
During the war rescued from holocaust by Poles.
After the war she was a military prosecutor, involved in Stalinist regime show trials of the 1950s. She has been implicated in the arrest and execution of many Polish anti-Nazi resistance fighters including key figures in Poland's wartime Home Army, among them a legendary commander of the underground Polish Home Army during World War II general Emil August Fieldorf. Fieldorf was executed on 24 February 1953, so in the day this propaganda-movie get an Oscar!
Wolińska-Brus was accused of being an "accessory to a court murder," which is classified as a Stalinist crime and a CRIME OF GENOCIDE.
A 1956 report commissioned during Poland's period of de-Stalinization concluded that Wolińska-Brus had violated the rule of law by her involvement in biased investigations and had also staged questionable trials that frequently resulted in executions.
The wife of marxist prof. of Economy in Oxford Beniamina Zylberberga (Wlodzimierz Brus). GB refused her extradiction to Poland. She did never repent. Died 2008 in Oxford.

Rescue of Jews by Poles during the Holocaust
Polish Jews were the primary victims of the German Nazi-organized Holocaust. Throughout the German occupation of Poland, many Poles risked their own lives – and the lives of their families – to rescue Jews from the Nazis. Grouped by nationality, Poles represent the biggest number of people who rescued Jews during the Holocaust.[1][2] To date, 6,394 Poles have been awarded the title of Righteous among the Nations by the State of Israel – more than any other nation.[1]
The Armia Krajowa (Polish resistance) alerted the world to the Holocaust, notably with the reports of Witold Pilecki and Jan Karski. The Polish government in exile and the Polish Secret State asked for American and British help to stop the Holocaust, to no avail.
Some estimates put the number of Poles involved in rescue at up to 3 million, and credit Poles with saving up to around 450,000 Jews from certain death.[2] The rescue efforts were aided by one of the largest anti-Nazi resistance movements in Europe, the Polish Underground State and its military arm, the Armia Krajowa. Supported by the Polish government in exile, these organizations operated special units dedicated to helping Jews; of those, the most notable was Żegota.
Polish citizens were hampered by the most extreme conditions in all of German-occupied Europe. Nazi-occupied Poland was the only territory where the Germans decreed that any kind of help for Jews was punishable by death for the helper and his entire family. Of the estimated 3 million non-Jewish Poles killed in World War II, up to 50,000 were executed by Nazi Germany solely as a penalty for saving Jews.[2] After the War most of this information was suppressed by the Soviet-backed regime in an attempt to discredit Polish prewar society and government as reactionary…
